I’m originally from Southern California but moved to North Texas when I was around seven years old. I’ve always loved stories and came from voracious readers on both sides of my family. Passing a bookstore seemed sacrilegious in some way. I was so lucky that my reading wasn’t censored by my parents. If I thought I could read it, they let me buy it with my money. Hence why I knew Interview with the Vampire by heart by the time I was twelve. I also had the audiobook on cassette and would fall asleep to the sound of the narrator.
